Dominic Evans is a photojournalist from Yorkshire, currently living in Falmouth, Cornwall. His interest in photography was first piqued when he got his first digital camera, with which he quickly became frustrated with at the lack of control. A few years later, Dominic got his first Digital SLR, a Sony A300. As with most people learning the craft of photography, he started on a variety of subjects; theatre, flowers, portraits and architecture to name but a few as he tried to find his field.

During his Photography A-Level Dominic became more politically aware and by the end of his A2 studies he was determined to become a Photojournalist.

Unsuccessful in his first round of University applications, as he didn’t get his choice of course or university, Dominic took a gap year in order to gain experience in the Photographic Industry. A year later, he applied to universities again, this time with a more focused selection. Now successful in attaining his first choice; Dominic now studies at Falmouth University on their BA (Hons) Press and Editorial Photography course.

Shooting both digital and film, it is the latter which Dominic considers his speciality. He runs his own darkroom at his home in Yorkshire where he enjoys printing from black and white negatives.

After meeting Alistair Deacon at Falmouth University during their first year, they quickly formed a close friendship. After visiting Alistair’s home in the New Forest, Dominic swiftly fell in love with the area and started shooting there.
